Women's Weekend Retreat in the Baden-Württemberg Conference, Germany

Life’s Journey with Dissonances

The women's weekend retreat at Haus Schwarzwaldsonne from March 28-30 was a truly blessed event. Right from the start, getting to know each other and seeing each other again was harmonious and an open exchange quickly developed. Apart from the fact that we were blessed with great company and sunny weather, we were spoiled with incredibly delicious and lovingly prepared food. The inviting decorations also contributed to the pleasant atmosphere.
We had the opportunity to listen to moving talks by our speaker Rabea Kramp. She took us on a touching journey through some of the dissonances in her life. Her honest, authentic way of sharing what she has experienced and how God led her through this musical adventure was particularly impressive. It was palpable how the participants of around 60 women empathized with her. We laughed together, and at one point or another a murmur went through the audience and a few tears were shed.
On the Sabbath, we celebrated the divine service together, which was framed by our theme song “Appearing in the Ways of My God” and several other musical contributions. After a walk to the Herzog Friedrich Tower, we fortified ourselves with treats created by Moti and Irina Bohat. In the evening, laughter prevailed as we tried our hand at a pantomime. I was impressed by how women manage to spread lightness and fun despite the emotional depth. Afterwards, in addition to the sauna, there were also various craft stations available. The atmosphere was warm and based on trust and mutual interest. It is amazing what profound experiences each individual woman brings with her. Praying together and sharing experiences with God in times of temptation encouraged me personally.
The organization of the program by Marion Knirr, Women’s Ministries director of the Baden-Württemberg Conference, and her team reflected the women - because the program was as diverse as the women themselves. So we can already look forward to the next women's weekend in Freudenstadt!
