Women’s Weekend Retreat at Wittensee, May 5-7, 2023

Full of expectations we arrived in Bünsdorf on Friday, May 5. The yellow fields with rapeseed in full bloom around the Wittensee Lake gleamed in their splendor and promised us a great weekend. Women between 30 plus and 80 years found each other at the retreat.
With the life stories of four women of the Bible, Cornelia Warning, one of the leaders of the Hanse Conference Women’s Ministries department, took us on a journey through her own life story on this women's weekend. These women were: Jochebed, Hannah, Ruth, and Mary (Jesus' mother). They trusted God's promises and so may we. In Isaiah 41:10, we read, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." We can trust his promise.
We experienced worship and prayer, great conversations, walks, and lots of laughter and some tears flowing down our cheeks, and all this gave us strength. We would like to encourage you with the words of the Psalmist (Psalm 34, 8): "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him!"
