Women’s Weekend in Switzerland

God and Me

At last. We are back. Arrived to stay. At least for two days.
We have been patient for a whole year, lovingly looking after our families, households, bosses, communities, and friends. Now the time was ripe for us to retreat to our women's island for a weekend. And where better to do this than in nature, far away from the hustle and bustle, traffic, and shopping?
Spoiled for a weekend
That's why we stayed at the St. Stephan youth center from September 8 to 10, surrounded by mountains, meadows, and lush, beautiful nature for a women's weekend.
On Friday evening, after moving into our rooms and visiting the house, we were welcomed by our culinary team, led by Jrene Haldimann. She was supported by young chefs who had attended the cooking and baking workshop at the Talentschmiede. So in a relaxed atmosphere, those who had not been embraced for a long time were given a warm welcome and with food and drink, it was also easier to meet and get to know new faces.
God and me
But in addition to all the culinary delights and the relaxed atmosphere, we 38 women were also keen to receive spiritual input. Daniela Canedo, Director of the Women’s Ministries Department in Germany, had been invited for this purpose. Together we immersed ourselves in the topic 'God and I - His image in you and me'. We dealt with the questions 'Where do I come from?', 'Who is God?' and 'How does He show Himself to me? Amid these points, valuable contributions, encouraging experiences, and lively discussions arose that continued even after the official part of the meetings. The time spent together, framed by praise and devotions, contributed to beneficial self-reflection.
Queens and priestesses
It's nice to know that even if I should be alone, I am always supported by my Father in heaven. Because God himself says about himself: I am who I am - approachable, in search of you. In the eyes of God, we are queens and priestesses - no matter how we see ourselves. Each of us can feel the same way. We went home blessed and grateful - filled with new and strengthened thoughts of peace, inner freedom, and the love that Jesus gives us and with the certainty that we really can come to Jesus with everything that burdens us.
