On Sabbath, April 15, 2023, the Women's Ministries (WM) Department of the Jesi Adventist Church organized a spiritual breakfast as part of the "Working Hands" seminar. This is an attractive program initiated by Elizabeth Penagos, the local WM leader. The program started in January 2023 and involves a small group of women who take up different themes. The breakfast was preceded by a spiritual time at which they spoke about hands that work with joy and conviction in service for God, their neighbors, and the church. Joy is a spring that feeds and keeps alive the flame of concern and compassion. "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver," says the apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 9:7. Conviction is the product of knowing that we serve a great, just, good, merciful God, and this certainty prevents discouragement from leading us to abandon the mission. This is why God's Word says, " Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain" (1 Corinthians 15:58).
To conclude the spiritual part, all the women present gathered in groups and shared their concerns and needs and then made them subjects for prayer. It was a good time! Then we prepared and consumed a good breakfast. We praise God for every occasion, big or small, when we can come together, confide in each other, and tighten our bonds of "sisterhood" even more.
