Women's Sabbath in Zeutern, Germany

An inspiring day of fellowship and joy

On May 24, 2025, the Zeutern church in the Baden-Württemberg Conference enjoyed a Women's Sabbath in Unteröwisheim. This special service was organized by the women and provided a platform for many members of the congregation to use their gifts and talents. The women's Sabbath was an inspiring day of fellowship and joy, inviting the whole family to participate. Guests, friends, and relatives were also in attendance.
Diverse Contributions by Women
The women of the Zeutern congregation were instrumental in shaping the day. They contributed their talents in various areas, including music, decorations, speeches, poems, handicrafts, cooking and baking, singing, and organization. They also led the Sabbath School discussion groups, allowing them to share their joy and passion for faith with others. In addition, the women who usually lead the children's Sabbath School groups were free to participate or lead in the adult groups. This active and creative participation created a lively and welcoming atmosphere where both church members and guests felt welcome.
Inspiring Sermon and Children's Program
A special highlight of the day was the sermon by Anastasia Haar. It shed light on the role of women in the Holy Scriptures and inspired many participants to reflect on their own relationship with God.
For the younger visitors, there were not only exciting children's Sabbath school groups, which this time were taken over by the men/dads, to the delight of the children, but also a lively children's story that made the service a joyful experience for the whole family. The children were also treated to a special Sabbath surprise in the afternoon.
Fellowship Lunch and Sharing
The service was followed by a fellowship lunch. The congregation and guests enjoyed a variety of dishes prepared with love. It was a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen the community.
Book Table on the Topic of Women
A book table invited visitors to browse. Many found something suitable, be it an inspiring book that opened up new perspectives or a short read for in between. Love letters, promise cards, Bible verses as stickers, and much more were up for grabs. The selection was varied and thought-provoking.
Afternoon Walk
In the afternoon, a walk led the participants through the forest and the picturesque vineyards. This provided a perfect opportunity to get to know each other better, share thoughts, and make new friends. During the walk, prayer requests were collected, and the participants listened and tried to develop a deeper understanding of each other. They also enjoyed singing together to God's glory in the vineyard.
God in our Midst
Overall, the Women's Sabbath was a powerful example of the strength and beauty of women’s sisterhood. This special day included moments of reflection, inspiration, and mutual support. God’s love is a bond that unites women and strengthens the community. This experience has shown how important community and mutual support are, and they look forward to repeating it next year.
