Women’s Sabbath in Luebeck, Germany

Your Life is Valuable

The Women of the Hanse Conference, particularly of the local church in Luebeck, organize an annual Women’s Sabbath on the second weekend in October. This time, on October 8, 2022, the guest speaker was Elke Wander, who introduced the topic skillfully and passionately. WERTVOLL is the German word for valuable, and each letter stands for one of the 8 health principles that make life healthy and happy.
W – water (Wasser)
E – nutrition (Ernährung)
R – rest (Ruhe)
T – fitness (Trimmen)
V – trust and forgiveness Vertrauen/Vergeben
O – without drugs Ohne Drogen
L – light (Licht)
L – air (Luft).

Both in her sermon and her afternoon presentation, Elke showed us what God has provided us so that we can live a healthy and happy life. The concept of God’s plan for us became tangible and understandable. After a delicious potluck and time for conversation and sharing, a good number of women stayed for the afternoon program, ranging in age from 10 to over 80. Elke showed how to grow sprouts and some of the participants were so excited about God's health plan that they will definitely try to sprout seeds themselves.
Once again, the Women’s Sabbath was successful and inspiring.
