On March 11, a women's Sabbath was organized in Verden under the theme – Transformed Through Prayer.
Wonderful winter weather surprised us all and in bright sunshine, we met for the service and an afternoon program. The speaker only made it just on time for the sermon. A fallen tree had forced her to take a detour, which took a little longer than planned.
The topic of prayer kept the church busy. Some prayers that were spoken that morning were just, “Please let the speaker arrive safely.” The sermon addressed many questions about prayer: what is prayer, in which situations do we pray, when do we need support when praying, is prayer a conversation or more, and where can we find biblical persons who had such questions and what answers did they find?
A delicious meal, plenty of time for personal exchange, and a deepening of the topic in the afternoon gave us the motivation to deepen the conversation and prayer with God, to stay close to him, and to let him give us gifts and surprises in many different ways.
The day ended with refreshments and the wish to repeat this experience in Verden.
