Fifty enthusiastic women gathered in the hostel in Mondsee to hear Heather-Dawn Small speak at the 2018 Women’s Ministries retreat from April 27-29. Denise Hochstrassser and Dagmar Dorn from the EUD were also present. In her first unit Heather-Dawn concentrated on how important it is to celebrate and praise God and how to exercise gratitude. Dagmar and Denise brought a report on current events in the EUD and the women were amazed at the broad spectrum of Women’s Ministries. Heather-Dawn then spoke about challenging times in her own life and how the Bible verse in Genesis 16:13 “You are the God who sees me” brought her comfort and opened a way back to a positive life and joy. A variety of workshops in the evening wrapped up a wonderful program. On the Sunday morning Heather-Dawn spoke about 1Peter 1:3-9. The closing session was also a time to say goodbye not only to the participating ladies but also to Gerd-Laila Walter who is retiring after 21 years as director of the WM department in Austria, and Denise Hochstrasser, who has reached retirement age and is stepping down as WM director at the division. At the same time the ladies were pleased to meet Dagmar Dorn, who is the new WM director at the division level. Women in Austria are active and enthusiastic and such retreats fill them with new energy and motivation. May God bless their work!
