From November 2- 4 the Hansa Conference Women’s Ministries Department had invited to a retreat in Boiensdorf at the Baltic sea. One of the participants was late in arriving and was worried where she would be able to find a spot for her car on the small parking lot, but there were only four other cars there. What was wrong? Had she not received information about last-minute changes? A bit disappointed, she realized that the group consisted of only 11 women. What kind of a retreat would that be? However, her skepticism soon dissipated. Because of the small group size a very special atmosphere developed. Together with the speaker Ulrike Gelke they explored how to find a way to be the person God sees in us. What has influenced us and made us what we are today? Which influences have been good and which ones should we shut out? How can we find the assignments God has in store for us and for which he has given us the right gifts and experiences? These and other topics were the subject of much discussion and many good impulses and ideas were taken home. One of the highlights was the chocolate confectionary workshop on Saturday night. The wonderful scenery for walks and the untypically warm and sunny November weather as well as the caring catering all contributed to making this a wonderful, relaxing and blessed women’s weekend retreat –absolutely awesome!
