Women's Ministries Meeting in Ticino, Switzerland

The newly organized Women's Ministries Group in the Canton of Ticino (Switzerland) had a first meeting on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Although heavy snowfall with 40 cm new snow in lower regions on the day before made traffic conditions chaotic, 17 women braved the weather. Abigaela Trofin, leader of the Women's Ministries Department in Northern Italy, held an interesting lecture about "Biblical Culture", pointing out that we should work together in spite of our various backgrounds and origins, qualities and characters. She illustrated her point with five different perfumes, candles of various forms and colours, as well as with four different fruits. We should be a lovely perfume for the people around us. At the end she made an exotic fruit shake, showing how important it is that we co-operate with all our gifts and let the Holy Spirit transform us into something delicious.
In the afternoon the conference Women's Ministries leadership team reported on the progress of the plans for the Women's Ministries Congress which will be held March 17 -19, 2017 and informed about the planned leadership seminars. A prayer ministry has also been organized for the women of the Canton. Bernadette Fogliani presented a historical review of Women's Ministries in the church. Ildiko Jennah, Women's Ministries Director for the Swiss Romany Conference had spent four days in Ticino, working with the congress planning committee. The work of the department has set off well and with God's help will continue to prosper.
