"Hope for newborns" Project

One of the greatest joys of this summer is that the project "Hope for Newborns" has resumed its work in the maternity ward of the Municipal Hospital in Câmpina. Started in 2017 at the initiative of ADRA, the Women's Ministries Department of the Church of Câmpina Mărășești joined this project. Shortly after, the sisters of the other two churches in the city, Petru-Rareș, and Sălaj, joined the project. Pastor Alexandru Ciurea and two others from the area financially support this activity. From 2017 to March 2020, the sisters knitted and sewed booties, blankets, dresses, outfits, bonnets, and diapers, all for newborns. During this period, packages were given to 1504 babies (approximately 40-50 packages per month). These packages, consisting of newborn clothing and a book for the mothers "Beautiful... in his time”, by Zenobia Niculiță, brought joy and comfort to all, but especially to those who asked bitterly: "Doctor, I don't have anything with which to take my baby out of the hospital. What can I do?"
Because of the pandemic that began in March 2020, the maternity ward was closed until May 2022. Since May, at the request of the maternity ward management, we have resumed this project, although we are in a period of soaring prices, crisis, illness, calamities, and insecurity. From our experiences with God, we are convinced that when the Lord leads a project, we can achieve great things even with little money. We pray and trust the Lord to send funding and are encouraged to go forward with more projects.
