On Saturday afternoon, June 14, 2025, MAR, the Women's Ministries Department of the Adventist Church in Alenza, premiered the play “Voces desde la niebla” (Voices from the fog). A play written and directed by Angelita Gutierrez, a member of the MAR group and the first Women's Ministries Director in Spain.
The premiere of this play took place in the context of the Seventh-day Adventist Church's Women's Ministries Emphasis Day, celebrated worldwide on the second Sabbath of June.
Voices from the Fog
“Voices from the Fog” tells the story of two young women reporters who talk about how fascinating it would be to interview biblical women. One of them dreams... and in her dream, time dissolves. Amid a symbolic fog, five female biblical figures appear. They are timeless: they have no fixed age or epoch, only voice and message.
- Sarah, speaks of faith in the impossible.
- Abigail, of wisdom in times of conflict.
- Deborah, of leadership with purpose.
- The Samaritan woman, of the encounter that transforms.
- Mary, of the yes that changed history.
Each interview reveals truths that transcend centuries, bringing together past and present in an exquisite way, inviting the audience to reflect on topics such as faith, identity, and the legacy of women.
Intergenerational musical performance
Iris Hernández and Paola Fernández participated in the play as reporters. The biblical characters were represented by Amalia Reta, Carla Gardié, Karla Ogando, Ramielys Mejía and Lina Cuadros. In addition, the play included a musical performance in which women of all generations participated.
Several men were also involved in the production. They wanted to support the ministry so that women can develop their talents and leadership. The local church also supported the project by providing the technical means and special effects for a quality presentation, designed for a demanding audience.
Thanks to God, the play was very well received. Neighbors and friends who are not used to coming to our church attended. Church members and sisters from other churches also showed great interest.
After the end of the program, a team of MAR volunteers offered a snack to those present, seeking to create a pleasant atmosphere for sharing, getting to know each other, and strengthening bonds.
We thank God for the gifts and talents he bestows on his daughters and sons and for giving us the possibility of communicating his word in a creative and relevant way in today's context.
