Women's Ministries Emphasis Day was an opportunity to give the pulpit to women in several Adventist churches in Italy.
On Sabbath, June 8, the Women's Ministries of the Bovisio Masciago church in northern Italy had Franca Zucca as their guest speaker for the special day dedicated to this department. The theme of the sermon was “The God Who Sees You.” Franca related the experience of three women mentioned in the Bible: Hagar, Rispa and the adulteress. These women experienced different situations but are united by the suffering they experienced. And God, who sees all things, does not abandon them, but rather sustains them.
In the afternoon, after a fellowship lunch together, we continued reflecting on the morning sermon. Several men also participated in the meeting. All of them opened their hearts and related several very touching experiences.
We experienced a beautiful day. We hope to repeat it as soon as possible.

In Jesi, in central Italy, Women's Ministries Emphasis Day was held on Saturday, June 22. The sermon, on the theme “The God Who Sees You,” was presented in several voices, introduced by a skit. In it, a girl recites the “Our Father” but without being aware of the words she speaks. Here God intervenes and dialogues with her. God “sees” her and guides her to the right understanding. He makes sure that each prayer is not a mere repetition of words but a profound moment of encounter with the divine.
Hagar and Rispa were the biblical figures considered in the sermon. Both went through painful experiences. Each of them crossed the desert of abandonment, of not being considered, of heartbreak in the face of losing everything, even their children. Their experiences come from the very distant past, but they are still relevant when we read today's news or when we experience grief firsthand. What comforts and gives hope is that today, as then, God sees and intervenes to lift us up. Let us entrust ourselves to him who is our Father and who loves us like the apple of his eye!
At the end of the sermon, a small ceremony concluded the “Clothed” seminar, the series of meetings that the Jesi Women’s Ministries have organized this church year. All participants received a lovely pin as a gift, while a card was distributed to the entire assembly.
