On Sabbath June 13, 2020, many Adventist local churches in Italy were not yet opened after the lockdown, so the Women’s Ministries department made a special video message and sermon for the women to celebrate the Women’s Ministries Emphasis Day. «Christ’s Amazing Love Moves Me» was the theme of the video that was watched on demand on the web television Hope Channel Italy. There were over 200 views.
The WM national coordinator Lina Ferrara preached in the Lungotevere church, the oldest Adventist church in Rome. The sermon was also broadcast live on the Facebook page of the local church. The women were happy to celebrate the WM special day on the second Sabbath of their church reopening. We were not able hold any program in the afternoon due to the restrictions set out in the hygiene protocol to contain the Covid-19 virus.
For the women in Lungotevere, it has been very important to restart with a sermon with physical presence, even wearing masks and observing the safe distance. It was like picking up where they had left off. In fact, the lockdown in Italy began on March 4, therefore it was not possible to hold the International Women’s Day of Prayer on Sabbath March 7.
