After the merger of two conferences in the North German Union to form a new, larger, Hanse Conference, the Women’s Ministries directors and their teams came together for the first time on the weekend of January 20-22, 2023 in Sandkrug.
Upon their arrival on Friday, they were welcomed by a warm house, coffee, tea, cookies, and a cozy atmosphere before dinner. The Friday evening devotional program was filled with praise and a personal report from each team member. It was moving to hear the interesting experiences with God that the women talked about.
After an encouraging Sabbath service, moments of rest, and a walk through nature, led by Dorika Güldenzopf, the group enjoyed refreshments and then turned to the theme "Serving" from ICOR (intergenerational church of refuge). The group has recognized that serving is the main task for the sisters, big and small. An inspiring sermon by the late Hans Gerhardt introduced the topic and the women shared their impressions in a workshop.
With a fun evening of games and creativity, the day ended with much joy.
The agenda on Sunday contained an exchange about various projects and activities. After a delicious lunch, the team said goodbye, looking forward to seeing each other again at the various projects and activities.
Nancy and Cornelia, the conference WM directors, are very grateful for the women on the team. They invest a lot of time and commitment to their local communities and the Conference. With their gifts and talents, they contribute to the work God has commissioned us to do.
