On the Sabbath of November 22-23, 2024, the Alexandria 1 Seventh-day Adventist Church of Alexandria held a Women's Ministries (WM) Convention with the motto "Yes, I Will Go!"
On Friday evening, the motivational message from 2 Peter 1:3-4, was presented by Daniela Petreacă, WM Department Director for the Oltenia Conference. She emphasized the power of God's promises and the confidence, support, and encouragement He gives us to live a clean life in an ungodly world. Sabbath morning's devotional entitled "Samaritan Woman" was about the impact of encountering Jesus and the power of personal witness, and the noon sermon entitled "Go and Find My Sheep" highlighted the Savior's love that "loved to the end" by sacrificing Himself and our service to the lost. Both presentations were given by Liliana Radu, Director of the WM Department of the Romanian Union. Adriana Unteșu presented the children's story. After a very tasty lunch prepared by the sisters of the church, a meeting was held to present and discuss mission programs and projects. On this occasion, the 30 or so women who participated were informed and discussed ideas for work and how they can be applied in the area.
In the afternoon, as part of the Enditnow initiative, Anca Andronic, a psychotherapist, presented the seminar entitled "Trauma-Informed Church" and brought to the attention of the listeners the importance of trauma-informed listening and how to act appropriately in crises (building a leadership team, understanding the barriers that victims may face, listening effectively, maintaining confidentiality, and offering safety and support). Enditnow pens and bookmarks were given to the participants. The uplifting music and poetry brought hope to the souls through the songs chosen and sung with the whole room, the violin ensemble (made up of three children) and Irina's poetry recited, which completed the joy of the meeting.
