WOMEN'S CONFERENCE OF THE CZECHO-SLOVAK UNION

From October 26 to 27, 2019, 180 women from the Czecho-Slovak Union gathered in Brno for a Women's Conference. They came from the three participating conferences - Bohemia, Moravia as well as Silesia and Slovakia.
The motto was "A Woman is like a Pearl" and the message was taken from Proverbs 31:25. The distinctivity and value that God gives us was visualized by various symbols depicting pearls, be it the decoration, a pearl bracelet or pearl-shaped chocolate etc. A jewelry designer helped us understand the process how a pearl is formed. Only when a foreign particle penetrates into the shell, can something as beautiful as a pearl develop. Dagmar Dorn, Women’s Ministries Director of the EUD also expressed this thought in her sermon. No one loves painful processes in life but each of us is familiar with pain. But God can make something wonderful out of this, something that would otherwise not have been possible. God uses the negative in our lives, which has arisen through the brokenness of our world, and turns it around so that it can serve his glory. The story of Noemi is a biblical example.
On the Sabbath afternoon, the Christian psychologist Jeromým Klimeš showed how to reduce and counteract migraine with simple means. Migraine is something that particularly women tend to experience. Since migraine often occurs in connection with stress, it is important to preventively insert rest periods into everyday life.
The Sabbath evening was dedicated to a book reading by an author. The author, Hana Pinknerová, read short stories showing how we can find something special in mundane experiences and how they are related to God again and again. The reading was accompanied by her husband on the guitar.
The workshops, good for body, soul and spirit were well received on Sunday morning.
Iveta Halešova and her team succeeded in offering the women a wonderful weekend on which they were able to fill their batteries and feel appreciated.
