After a long break due to Corona, we were able to meet again on May 28 for a women's breakfast in the very inviting seminar room of our new church. 19 women, born in 6 different countries, shared their joys and sorrows, supporting each other.
This time we also welcomed four dear women from Ukraine. A sister from Moldova and her daughter translated so that we had no communication problems. The Ukrainian women told us very emotionally about their experiences and feelings. It was good that we could also pray together.
Beautifully laid tables, flower arrangements, and delicious food formed the basis for an enriching morning.
In our devotional time, we spoke about Jacob, the refugee. Our kind, great God was with Jacob. On his flight, desperate and alone, he had nothing at all where he could sleep safely and comfortably. So he took a stone as a cushion. In that night of fear, God comforted him with the wonderful dream of a ladder to heaven. An artistically very talented Ukrainian woman immediately drew the ladder to heaven. God said to Jacob, "I am with you and will keep you wherever you go... I will not leave thee!"
Some refugees may one day be able to return to their homeland. But people of faith also have a common homeland: "But our homeland is in heaven!" To this wonderful homeland, we are on the way together!
