Let's Talk about Sex. This year's Women of Grace Weekend was about sexuality. Who invented it? Not Switzerland or Ricola, but God.
Already in childhood, we are shaped by our parents concerning sexuality. Did I see my parents show affection to each other when I was a child? Was I given sex education? How did I feel as a girl? Belief systems are developed that accompany and shape us well into adulthood, including sexuality. The more positive our belief systems are, the more fulfilling our sexual life will be. If we know where our boundaries are and what we consider good and communicate that to our partner, a fulfilling sex life can develop. In this communication between husband and wife is crucial. Being able to openly tell each other how you feel without fear of rejection is essential.
Fun, pleasure, and joy
Just as God created man and woman, He also created sexuality. Our good also wanted us to have fun, pleasure, and joy. He wants us to enjoy each other. We experience this togetherness exclusively in the relationship between man and woman. The world, with its images, presents us with many myths. For example: You have to start having sex as early as possible. Or: Normal people always want to have sex. Cordula Kehlenbach, a sex therapist, quickly brought us back down to earth.
A special weekend
The valuable inputs by Dr. Cordula Kehlenbach and Judith Fockner were only a part of Women of Grace. The incredibly delicious food, the lovingly decorated rooms, and the little surprises were some of the highlights of the weekend. Time together for sharing, self-reflection, music, and laughter rounded out the weekend. The Women of Grace scrapbook is always one of the special features. There was plenty of time during the weekend to let creativity run wild on its pages. On Saturday evening, we all enjoyed a ladies' night and painted nails, baked, and played games. This weekend we were shown that sex is a gift from God for married couples. He gives us something that He does not actively participate in. This shows us how generous God is and that He has a true sense of pleasure. He is pleased when we enjoy each other.
