Everyone has their burdens in life, but what matters is how we respond to them. With God's help and conscious decisions, we can overcome difficult challenges. The long-awaited weekend for South Slavic Women in the Diaspora finally took place from December 6-8, 2024 in Hesselberg.
Women came from three German Conferences and Austria. The weekend, led by Lydia Lukic (Bavarian Conference) and Daniela Piroski (Central Rhenish Conference), was entitled “Take Care of Yourself”. Our speaker Dorothea Relic-Macedo brought us closer to this topic through different focuses: “When life smashes you”, “Make yourself comfortable” and “Be a fragrance”. We learned how important it is to take time for yourself, to renew your body and mind, and to find meaning in your actions. Exhaustion leads to stress, but the solution is not just to rest, but to live wholeheartedly!
Many women enriched the weekend with their talents through poetry and creative surprises as well as delicious home-baked cookies. We drew new strength with prayers, songs, and the sharing of personal experiences. Our speaker also shared her own challenges with us and inspired us with her confidence that, with God's help, every problem can be solved. Saturday evening offered games, laughter, sauna and aqua aerobics.
A big thank you to all the women who were involved and made this weekend a special community with their presence.
