On Sabbath, September 16, the church of Reus invited the public to share a vegetarian cooking workshop in the facilities of the Cultural Center "Amics de Reus". Church members Mioara and Onisin, Patricia and Lluis, and Blanca Martinez, who is an expert in Nutrigenetics and Microimmunotherapy, were in charge of the presentations and demonstrations. There were 60 people present who were delighted with the tasting.
So much information is accessible to people today. That is why it is important to know how to choose well what we hear or see.
One of these aspects is food, that we need to nourish ourselves and keep our body and mind going. As the church of Reus, we have opened a door to share with our fellow citizens the knowledge that we have received from God regarding the care of our health through food.
For some time now presentations have been held in the church facilities, with considerable success. Having learned how to make tasty and nutritious dishes, and explaining how they are made, we decided to outsource the activity. Last Sabbath, we invited the public to share one of these "classes" in the facilities of the Cultural Center "Amics de Reus", a historic building that welcomed us with open arms. We set up our kitchen in the courtyard of the building. While the chosen dishes were being prepared, the properties of the components of each recipe and the benefits obtained from the ingestion of the result were commented on in a discussion with the option to ask questions.
There were 60 people present who were delighted with the tasting of the dishes and surprised that such tasty results could be obtained with ingredients of exclusively vegetable origin. Once they had tasted the food and the event came to an end, they were able to take away a booklet with an explanation of the recipes and a magazine on health in which the 8 basic principles to keep us in top shape are presented.
Little by little we are making ourselves known as a church and bringing the message of approaching the source of knowledge and life: Jesus. We encourage more activities like this as we share our lifestyle and our hope with those who still do not know it.
