The large group of Ukrainian refugees in the Tübingen SDA church has become an important part of the church. How important they are became tangible when they gathered for their own Sabbath meeting in nature and many seats were left empty. They are such a blessing, filling the church with life, music, and interaction, having found a spiritual home away from home. They make up the majority of the participants of the weekly fellowship (Potluck) meal, often spending the whole afternoon together.
After more than a year, their integration has progressed. Communication is getting easier with increasing language skills. The women still meet once a month for a meeting in Ukrainian, with a snack, spiritual moments, and crafts, with lots of laughter and fun. On June 27, 2023, they dealt with the topic “Choose purpose” what skills and gifts they have, that everything we do is important and valuable, and that God values what we do. With all the sorrows that the war creates, it is important to create moments of relaxation and joy, and we admire the resilience and faith of our sisters who have found refuge in our area.
