The third Women’s Conference was held from October 20 to 22, 2017, in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic. The gathering was prepared by the Women's Ministries Department of the Czech Conference. In the picturesque setting of the historic city accentuated by autumnal colors and in a friendly atmosphere created by almost one hundred women, we were able to reflect on the difficult topic of the conference: Self-acceptance. With the help of biblical texts and knowledge of psychology as well as personal experience, Rachel Bicová (lecturer, teacher and counselor), helped us to understand the seemingly well-known subject better.
During the rich program, we had the opportunity to reflect on the directions our material, intellectual and spiritual life takes, acquire new practical knowledge and develop our creativity through thematic workshops. We were also able to respond to God's generosity in our lives during an ADRA charity auction for a woman in a difficult life situation. We praised God with songs and also reserved enough time to share. Pastor Sona Silova, who was present the whole weekend, had her ears and heart opened for our struggles and needs.
Great thanks also belongs to the group of sisters from the Prague - Smíchov church, who surprised us with an amateur theatrical performance of a play "Mikve", by Jewish author Hadar Galron, describing the fate of women of the Jewish Orthodox community regularly meeting in a ritual bath.
We are grateful that such an abundant number of women is able to attend the conferences, as they present a unique opportunity to get to know each other and share with our sisters across the churches of our entire Conference.
