Surprize Packets for Church Members in Tübingen, Germany

Community Masks for the Church

At a time when churches are closed, it is important to maintain contact with church members through other means. Therefore we in the Adventist Church Tübingen, Germany, thought about how we could bring joy to our church members and came up with the idea to send them a parcel. What should we put inside? Easter was over, which made the search for ideas more difficult. But we always need encouragement, especially in this time of social distancing. One of our women had started sewing protective masks, as it was foreseeable that the need would come at some point. So the initiators of the action came up with the idea to sew even more masks so that they could be given to all church members. A skilled seamstress was immediately ready to take up the task. Masks in suitable sizes were also sewn for children. A total of 250 masks were sewn and given away in the community. In addition to the masks, the package also included a lavender-filled cloth heart and encouraging reading material as well as craft ideas for the children. The envelopes were personally delivered to the mailboxes by friendly volunteers.
The reactions of the church members were positive. Many immediately contacted the church leadership to thank them for their surprise parcel. Thus the joy was great on all sides.
