During the last two years, the group from Icod (Tenerife) has been carrying out a project called “Quiérete” (Love Yourself). This initiative supports vulnerable women in the northwestern region of the island of Tenerife, who have been contacted through public institutions and friends.
The idea came from the Personal Ministries team, under the direction of Sister Miriam Suárez, who is now resting in the Lord. At the time, she presented the project to the Union, and financial assistance was approved.
Workshops, food distribution, and specific assistance, always with Jesus
In accordance with the initial idea, we have continued the project and developed workshops on health, physical and emotional well-being, and healthy eating. We also offer assistance in times of need, such as food distribution, thanks to the contributions of the brothers and sisters in our group. One of the project's achievements has been to help one of the participants with dental problems, improving her self-esteem. Many participants had never taken care of themselves before. In each workshop, we talk about Jesus and have given them copies of our publications and Bibles.
“Quiérete” WhatsApp group
A WhatsApp group called “Quiérete” (Love Yourself) has been created with 15 women to share Psalms and messages of encouragement, as well as information about workshops.
We first thank God for His guidance in this project, which focuses on getting to know us as individuals and then as a Christian church, using Jesus' method. We also thank our brothers and sisters from the church in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the Icod Group. And, of course, our pastor, Misael Delgado for encouraging us to continue with the project.
We encourage all Personal Ministry departments in all churches to carry out similar projects for the needy souls who are close to our community.
