Under the slogan “Enough silence,” on Friday, November 14, and Sabbath, November 15, 2025, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Madrid-Aluche welcomed clinical psychologist Millys Sánchez, deputy director of the national Explorers Club. Millys shared valuable information with us about child abuse: how to deal with, prevent, and heal situations related to this sensitive issue.
This informative and educational series, consisting of three topics, was the space where Millys spoke about the unfortunate reality of sexual violence that looms over children and how, together, we can protect and restore our children. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).
Topics
On Friday evening, November 14, Millys began with the topic: “Getting to know the villain called abuse.” On the Sabbath morning, during the second service, she presented the topic: “Time for rescue and prevention.” On the Sabbath afternoon, she concluded with: “Intervention in cases of child abuse.”
The congregation, family members, and friends came together at each of these events to listen and participate, but also to learn about this undesirable reality, learning protocols for action and tools to detect behaviors and situations that are warning signs of this terrible threat.
“Let's be partners in caring for our children, defend their integrity and support their healthy development, help create a safe environment for them.” These are, among many others, the proposals that Millys Sánchez left throughout her interventions.
