Hannelore Wengert, an active member of the Women’s Ministries Team in Baden-Württemberg for many years, is a person who has a heart for elderly people. In her home town Bad Wildbad in the Black Forest, she is well known as the director of the town’s Senior Citizens‘ Club. Her longstanding engagement in her community was now honored in a ceremony in the Town Hall on July 29, 2020, at which the mayor presented her with the Staufer Medal of the Premier.
The Staufer Medal is a personal award given by the Premier of the Federal Land Baden-Württemberg in Germany for special services to the Land and its people. The Staufer Medal is also intended to honor services to the common good which have been acquired over and above the actual professional duties in the context of a generally voluntary, social or civic commitment and which have been rendered over many years. The award of the Staufer Medal is accompanied by a certificate from the Premier, in which he expresses his thanks and recognition for the services of the honoured person to the Land Baden-Württemberg.
We would like to congratulate Hannelore Wengert on this occasion and express our appreciation for the honorary work she has done for the people of Bad Wildbad. She has excellently combined civic commitment and work for the welfare of her town with her Christian identity and deserves this award. We wish her continued energy and creativity in all her activities. Photo: Wengert
