In a world where stress and anxiety are often taken for granted, few truly understand the profound impact that negative emotions can have on our physical health.
Psychologist and psychotherapist Florentina Coman does not fall into this category, and on Sabbath, March 9, she visited the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Făgăraș to share information, experience, and insights with those who chose to attend the seminar "Negative Emotions and Physical Health".
We learned that thought, and emotion, which are immaterial, determine the secretion of hormones, and in the case of dysfunctional emotions, they are toxic to the body. On the other hand, the source of negative or dysfunctional emotions are unconscious beliefs formed in childhood, often as a result of trauma, which is why they are so difficult to identify.
Psychologist Florentina Coman ended her presentation with a confession: "Until I die, I am a child and I need my father. We all have this little man, the emotional man, our beliefs based on emotions and we will always need Daddy. And if Father is so strong, why shouldn't I go to Him [to share my burdens with Him]!"
The "Negative Emotions and Physical Health" seminar is part of a larger initiative dedicated to promoting physical and mental health to the general public, including healthy cooking and fasting seminars and clubs, and can be viewed on the Făgăraș Seventh-day Adventist Church's YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/PXOhXZ_04Bs?feature=shared
