Six years ago, in Cârligu, Romania, a program for children from families with modest financial means was initiated. The initiative had a significant impact, bringing together parents, friends, and church members. While working with these children, the mothers and other local women felt the need for meetings specifically designed for them.
Thus, starting in 2023, meetings have been organized with a special focus on topics of interest to women, passing on valuable information on health, education, and spiritual life. At first these meetings were organized annually, and now the meetings are planned on a quarterly basis.
Cristina, coordinator of the program, shares:
"Although we operate in an area with a low Adventist presence, our small church is full of love and dedication. The Lord has blessed this ministry, and the number of participants has grown from 30 the first year to 70 in March of this year."
The March 9 meeting, held under the title “Pampering for the Woman's Soul”, had Eliza Spătărelu as special guest speaker. The theme of the presentation, “The Secret of a Strong Woman,” was inspired by Psalm 1:3 NIV:
”That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers.
Eliza emphasized that the mystery of a woman's strength lies in drawing close to the source of living water, God, who gives life and strengthens the roots of the soul.
Together with Eliza, nine female students from Adventus University added to the excitement of the event with songs and poetry recitations. The participants deeply appreciated the program, which was reflected in the final survey, where the wish was expressed that the meetings should become monthly, focusing on topics related to faith, health, and education, etc.
The event ended with an interactive quiz, a fellowship meal, flowers, and health cards given as gifts, moments that brought smiles and created lasting bonds among the participants.
