Orange Day in Nursery School

Children say NO to violence!

The International Day for the Prevention of Violence or Orange Day is celebrated on November 25th worldwide. And because education and awareness are important steps to eradicate child violence, the children from the Adventist Day Nursery School "Albinuța" in Halmeu, Romania, wanted to promote the values that contrast with a culture of violence uniquely. With their age-appropriate cuteness, the children took to the streets with orange scarves around their necks, handed out anti-bullying leaflets, offered orange balloons with anti-violence messages, and made collages to be displayed in public places. The children were accompanied by their teachers. The mayor of the locality supported this activity by being present at this awareness-raising action, setting a good example of tolerance and respect for people. The children were involved in this activity with all their being, bringing smiles to every corner of the town, and the reward was not long in coming: one of the shop assistants served the children with chocolate.

The campaign "A GIFT OF RESPECT" has managed to have a positive impact on the inhabitants of Halmeu, making them aware of the need to be understanding and sensitive to this reality, avoiding situations that can become conflicts, becoming respectful, tolerant and treating everyone equally, thus eliminating labels and prejudices, and being correctly informed about this social problem.
These actions are essential to create a safe environment for all of us. Together we can build a better and safer world for our children!
