The General Conference Women’s Ministries Department recently published material for teenage girls called My Sister, my Friend. It consists of 10 important topics for girls. This beautiful material has now been translated into German and is available through the Conference leaders or the Austrian Top Life publishing house. There are two booklets – one with instructions for the facilitators – and the other is a workbook for the girls.
In English the material is available on our website women.eud.adventist.org/en/resources/
The My Sister, My Friend (MSMF) program aims to teach adolescent and teen girls essential knowledge and life skills while developing bonds of friendship within the group, fostering a healthy sense of self-worth and self-confidence, and nurturing each member’s own spiritual life. The MSMF group is a safe place where girls find security and the freedom to talk about issues they face at home, in school, or elsewhere. They are free from judgment and embarrassment while receiving loving guidance, sound advice, and Christ-centered principles for their situations.
My Sister, My Friend was created to help girls find their passion and purpose, and to empower them as a young woman. The topics in this workbook include career planning, decision-making, relationships, academic success, health, spirituality, leadership, and more. Alongside their fellow MSMF members, they will explore their natural gifts and talents and strengthen their spiritual life, all the while gaining essential skills to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future. We are happy that now the German-speaking Girls4Christ groups have access to this valuable material of the General Conference Women’s Ministries Department, prepared by Dolores Allen, translated by Erika Egervari for the Women’s Ministries D-A-CH co-operation for the German-speaking countries.
