The Federation of Evangelical Women in Italy (FDEI), which also includes the Adventist Women's Ministries, organized a training event titled "Let's start again from you". The purpose was to prevent and fight violence against women and to continue to work with local organizations and groups that oppose all forms of sexual and gender-based violence. The event was held at the Adventist Institute "Villa Aurora" in Florence, from May 5 to 8, 2022. The program was very varied. On Thursday there was a panel on "Violence against women: recognizing it to prevent it" and a play titled “Octavia and the others (women)”. On Friday, Elisabeth Green, Corinne Lanoir, Lidia Maggi and Letizia Tomassone spoke on "Theology and gender violence". On Sabbath, Deborah Giombarresi, psychologist and Adventist theology student, preached on violence against women in the local Adventist church during worship. The program ended on Sunday morning when the FDEI Committee and other women met in town at the place where a woman was killed by her husband, to remember her and all the women victims of violence. The FDEI event tried to provide in-depth information on the social and cultural causes of gender-based violence to be bearers of change.
