LOVERHOOD 2025

A celebration of faith

What a privilege to be able to take so much time to honor Jesus and have a special time with HIM. Meeting so many women was an experience. It became clear to me again that as women we don't fit into one category. I was particularly aware of this in the workshops. Even though being a woman unites us, we are as diverse as a meadow full of flowers and bring with us the most varied life experiences. I hope that we learn to listen to each other even more and lovingly acknowledge our different views and experiences.
March 15, 2025, 9:05 a.m.
The first guests gather in the Culture Barn in Friedensau and in front of the still closed doors. Full of expectation and excitement, seven young women come together to pray. They are the organization team of LOVERHOOD, the women's event of the Berlin-Central German Conference, that now gathers to place the upcoming day in God's hands. All the preparations have been made, the Barn has been lovingly decorated with great detail, small surprise bags and program notes have been distributed, and the drinks have been filled. The technology is ready, the band of Martha and Martin Mai have finished their sound check, the prayer team has set up their room, the speaker Sarah Herter checks her notes one last time, and we ask for God's blessing for this day and for every woman who is looking forward to this day with us.
Then it starts: we open the doors and with a cheerful “Hello!” almost one hundred women from all parts of the conference stream in. There are joyful reunions and new acquaintances, a small photo activity at the entrance sets the mood for the service, and when the first notes are played at 10:00 a.m., there is that special atmosphere in the room that makes women's meetings so indescribable. Sarah preaches about forgiveness, which is often so difficult for us and yet makes us most Jesus-like when it succeeds. We praise and glorify God with the band's songs, and each of us brings her photo with her thoughts to the cross.
The rest of the day flies by. In the afternoon, we split up into various workshops. There is a panel discussion with Dany Canedo on the topic of “A woman of Value”; the topic of the Friedensau shepherd (a woman) is what we can learn from sheep for life; we can experience the Bible through fragrances; create our own personal vision board; and learn about church resilience. But the most important part was the possibility of personal encounters, fellowship, and sharing. Those who hadn't seen each other for a long time simply used the time to talk over a cup of tea or take a short walk, as the spring sun gifted us with its rays that afternoon. “By the way”, you could also get creative, as there was plenty on offer for that too. The day ended with an emotional worship session in the evening.
March 15, 2025, 9:35 p.m. The organizing team gathers once again for prayer. We are exhausted, grateful, and happy! We were blessed by many loving and grateful comments. God has abundantly distributed his blessings! And while we are still sitting and reflecting on how we, too, have been enriched, our thoughts are already turning to the next LOVERHOOD event in 2026.
