Holiday Center Waldegg, above Rickenbach near Basel, Switzerland. This was the venue for Level 2 of the Women's Leadership Seminar from October 17-20, 2019, attended by 18 women.
Do we really need the Women’s Ministries Department? On the Thursday night, Heidi Albisser led out with the first of nine topics. A unanimous YES to the question led us after a democratic-anonymous vote into one of many further discussions and reports.
What is the philosophy of Women's Ministries? Are we still relevant? How do women of the Old Testament help us? How can I help my brothers and sisters in times of need? Accompany them with pastoral care? What about small groups in my community? Is there a need? If so, what can I specifically take up? How can I extend my ministry to God with a prayer group? And not to be underestimated: how do I get it all going? How do I plan effectively and efficiently? Where do I get financial support for these valuable ministries in my church, but especially for my service to God?
Yes, there was a lot of information, heads were spinning and the beds were not only frequented in the night, but were also needed to recharge the batteries of the participants. But thanks to Ursula and Elmar Stöckli we were all able to concentrate on studying. They took care of our physical well-being and they succeeded wonderfully. We were all allowed to sit at the tables beautifully decorated by Norma and enjoy the delicious, vegetarian food. Thanks again at this point.
Also a big thank you to the whole Women’s Ministries team: Maria Düsteler, Norma Burger and Evelyne Studer and to Dagmar Latuski, the new director, who came to us directly from her vacation to master her new job with confidence and humor.
It was a precious, blessed weekend for all of us and we agree that we want to continue to serve other women and to give glory to God. Photos: WM CH
