On March 02, 2024, at the Tenerife South Adventist Church, the Women's Ministries Department presented a program with an emphasis on prayer. The focus for this year is "Ignite Your Prayer Life." During the Sabbath School, four points about prayer were highlighted: Prayer ignites change, hope, unity, and forgiveness. Knowing this, we must keep in mind the importance of being consecrated in prayer at all times and in all circumstances.Prayer enables us to resist temptation; it improves our mental health; it makes us grateful people; it develops in us a Jesus-like character.
In the afternoon, the Women's Ministries group continued its program with various activities to encourage intercessory prayer. We read prayers that are written in the Bible to reflect on them. We must have a life of constant prayer for ourselves and our fellow men and women.
Called to work for Christ
The women of the church are called to work in the redemptive work commissioned by our Lord in Mark 16:15. For this reason, the “Women's Ministry supports, encourages, and challenges women in their daily walk as daughters of Jesus Christ and as church members.” We need to pray with faith, perseverance, and trust in God. We must work diligently in His work, as we prepare for His coming.
When Jesus was on earth, he taught his disciples to pray. He taught them to present their daily needs to God and to entrust their every request to Him. And the assurance He gave them that their prayers would be heard is given to us as well.
