It was a great pleasure to participate in the Women's Sabbath at the Hamburg International Church. For the first time since 2019, a Women's Prayer was celebrated on March 11, 2023. Damaris and Erica hosted a very successful and blessed service with much music and prayer.
The sermon topic was "The Impact of My Choices" with Wendy Dycfeld and her daughter Arelis as the interpreter. Wendy started her sermon with Genesis 3: 1-6, speaking about the consequences of knowing good and evil and she also brought in the story of the prodigal son. How do we welcome people who come back to the church? Not everyone is happy to have them back. Do we treat people who dare to return the same way the older son treated his brother?
For me, it was a great joy to see that some mother-daughter constellations participated in the preparation and execution of the service. It is a great blessing for our church to have several generations working together for God and the church.
Of course, the fellowship lunch was wonderful and it provided opportunities for good conversations. In the afternoon, the youth arranged the program with some group games. It was a lot of fun and around 5 pm we said goodbye with the wish for a repetition soon.
