International Women's Day in Milan, Italy

Cultivating Your Gifts

On Sabbath, March 9, on the occasion of International Women's Day (March 8), the Milan Baggio Adventist Church, dedicated its service to the text of Proverbs 31. All the women present (there were several guests) received the bulb of a flower accompanied by a Bible verse, all enclosed in a small bag. There was no indication as to what flower would grow out of the bulb, but the women were invited to take care of it so that they could find out what it was.
The message of this symbolic gift was to take care of ourselves because we can give so much. Even those who do not know their potential, if they cultivate their talents and gifts and put them in the service of God, will produce good fruit.

In the evening we went to see the movie "A Sound of Freedom - The Song of Freedom" about the true story of Timothy Ballard, a former government agent fighting against underage human trafficking in Colombia. A line from the movie remains in our minds: "God's children are not for sale."
