International Women’s Day in Bovisio Masciago, Italy

Communion with God

On Sabbath, March 8, the Women's Ministries Department of the Bovisio Masciago Adventist Church in the Lombardy region organized a beautiful day to the glory of our Lord. We had as our guest speaker Deborah Giombarresi, who is a psychologist and psychotherapist.
In the morning sermon Deborah spoke about “Communion with God” and made us reflect on the fact that sometimes we turn a neutral event into a negative one that gives us the impression that we are worthless. This affects ourselves , our family and the church. The Bible invites us to choose our thoughts. When we are at peace with ourselves we forgive ourselves, accept ourselves and do not dwell on the experiences that have hurt us. Being at peace, does not mean the absence of conflict, but harmony (Psalm 27:3).
At the end of the worship service, we had an agape meal and shared an excellent lunch. In the afternoon, Deborah invited us to a seminar entitled “What keeps us together? Living in a Healthy Family.” She advised on elements that help the couple: flexibility, openness to the external social context, recognizing and understanding the needs, and expectations of the partner without prevaricating.
The topic of forgiveness as a voluntary act that requires commitment benefits first of all the one who practices it and then the couple was addressed. We all had the opportunity to intervene and share our experiences and thoughts.
We then thanked the guest for the pearls of wisdom she gave us and asked for the Lord's blessings.
According to a report by Ornella Zanuso, secretary of Women's Ministries of the Bovisio Masciago church.
