November 25 is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. According to United Nations Women every 25th of each month is an Orange Day. During the 16 days from November 25 to December 10, Human Rights Day, this organization calls for people to think of activities to stress how important it is to eliminate violence against women. One sign is to wear something orange.
At the leadership seminar in Friedensau (16-19 November), the women participated in producing short video clips where they said why they want to end violence against women. They also posed for photos with slogans against Female Genital Mutilation, which is the main emphasis this year. These video clips will be posted successively on Facebook under #gegenGewalt on the STAFrauenDACH site during this time.
Our wish is that our churches think of some way of making an impact to end violence against women now. Enditnow.
