From September 5 – 8, 2016, the Inter-European Division invited all Departmental leaders on the Union level to an Advisory under the Motto “Growing together” in Sevilla, Spain. The division officers had prepared a strategic plan brochure indicating the 7 key areas on which the church is to concentrate during this qinquennium. During the plenary sessions the departments indicated what input they could give to the various areas and thus work together across departmental lines.
About 300 persons, including departmental leaders from the General Conference, were in attendance and also spent long hours deliberating, planning and discussing topics in their own advisory sessions.
The Women’s Ministries Department had representatives from the Austrian, Bulgarian, Franco-Belgian, German, Italian, Romanian, Spanish and Swiss Unions. Unfortunately the leaders from the Czechoslovakian and Portuguese Unions were not able to attend. The Women’s Ministries advisory was a great occasion to meet other leaders and share experiences under the direction of Denise Hochstrasser, EUD, and Heather-Dawn Small, GC, as well as hear about new materials and initiatives. All participants returned to their home fields encouraged and inspired.
