On Saturday, October 19, the Women's Ministries department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Zaragoza-Torrero organized a talk entitled “Menopause.” Psychologist Isabel Barros conducted the talk. Women's Ministries invited all church members to attend, stressing the importance of educating and supporting women in this life stage. The talk covered various aspects of menopause, such as: what is menopause, physical and emotional symptoms, available treatment options, care, and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle during this transition.
An important point that was stressed several times was to remember that, whatever we feel, “we are alive” and not to forget to ask God to help us through this stage as He has helped us through others stages. Menopause is a natural process, although some women may require medical support or hormone therapy to manage intense symptoms or to reduce the risk of associated diseases. But, above all, it is important to have all the information, to be able to face it, psychologically, in the best possible way.
