Inauguration of the Renovated Centre Casa Adra in Romania

Strategic collaboration: ADRA Romania, TX Foundation, and DGASMB expand their social mission

Casa ADRA – Emergency Reception Center for Victims of Domestic Violence is starting a new chapter in its mission: a place where protection and safety naturally go hand in hand with education and long-term independence. The renovation of Casa ADRA became a reality thanks to the generous support of the TX Foundation, an international organization that strongly believes in education as an essential means of balancing opportunities in vulnerable communities.
On Thursday, January 29, 2026, in a warm atmosphere filled with emotion and gratitude, the closing ceremony for the renovation work took place—a symbolic moment marking the transformation of a vision into reality. The event was more than an inauguration: it was a celebration of solidarity, partnerships, and hope offered to those in need of a new beginning.
The funding provided was directed toward the development of a modern center, adapted to the real needs of the beneficiaries—a space designed not only for professional training but also for personal reconstruction, healing, and regaining self-confidence. This is how the EmpowerU Training Center took shape, a center dedicated to skills development, education, and support for an independent future, which complements ADRA House's mission of protection with an essential dimension: long-term autonomy.
The Casa ADRA remains a place of protection and safety, but through the EmpowerU Training Center, it also becomes a space for education, rediscovery of personal power, and real opportunities for social reintegration. We thank the TX Foundation for their trust and support, as well as all our partners who contribute, day after day, to transforming the lives of the most vulnerable.
In 17 years of uninterrupted activity (2009-2025), as part of the ADRA project "Emergency Reception Center for Victims of Domestic Violence - ADRA House," which falls within the field of expertise "Fighting Domestic Violence," more than 4,026 victims of domestic violence, mothers and children, have been assisted, of which 1,199 have been housed at Casa ADRA.
The objective of this project is the social reintegration of victims of domestic violence through shelter, social counseling, psychological counseling, emergency medical assistance, food, and guidance from a lawyer. The lives of the beneficiaries housed in the center have been changed because they have experienced a different way of life: without physical, verbal, economic, psychological, sexual, and religious violence, based on spiritual values and cultivating healthy habits in nutrition, exercise, education, and recreation.
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Romania is licensed to provide social services through the "Emergency Reception Center for Victims of Domestic Violence – Casa ADRA." The decision to grant the operating license was issued by the Ministry of Labor, Family, Social Protection, and Elderly Persons, following the evaluation of the submitted documentation and verification visits.
