Health Outreach in Tenerife, Spain

ADRA Tenerife headquarters is located on the island of Tenerife, in the town of Añaza. Families come month after month, to receive food and profit from the services provided by ADRA. On September 7, the organization offered a Health Day, concentrating on healthy food. On this occasion, they were offered recipes with vegetables and legumes like the ones they are usually provided with. Unfortunately, they often return these products. Perhaps, because many do not have the opportunity to cook them, or do not know how to do it. For this reason, we gave them an alternative, showing them how to use the products, so that everyone at home could consume them.
We also provided blood pressure control and gave them a magazine explaining the 8 Natural Remedies. The action was well received, because all the attendees felt that they were taken into account in a more personal way. They noticed the volunteers' sincere interest in their health, and they appreciated it.
Most of the personnel of the action were women from the Central Santa Cruz de Tenerife church.
