What is it like to live in countries that are not so prosperous? That was the question we approached on April 6, 2019, in Bad Bergzabern, Germany. Sandy Wardzala, who spent a year in Mexico with ADRA, gave us a glimpse of life in that country. What values do people have who have less material security? What do they enjoy? What are their anxieties? What possibilities does ADRA offer for young people to go to a foreign country for a certain time? The twelve young women from 12 to 17 were interested listeners. Sandy really inspired us – thankyou!
After a delicious and healthy supper we dug deeper into the topic. We made beads out of old magazines and calendar photos. The girls were very creative and busy. Later in the evening our overnight pyjama party started with a movie night. Finally everybody was tired enough to happily fall asleep. The next morning a delicious breakfast was waiting for us to wake up, after which we had to say goodbye, hoping to meet again soon. It was fun.
