From May 17 to 19, 2019, over 90 women from 10 Adventist churches in the Campo Nord met at the Istituto Salesiano Tusini, Bardolino in Verona for a 3 day life transforming retreat. The theme for the retreat was ‘Lift Him Up’.
Speakers included Pastor Richard J. Ehoussou, director for Multiculturalism UICCA, Pastor Robert T. Iosub, Campo Nord President UICCA, Mrs. Sarah Opoku-Boateng, Adventist World Radio director and Shepherdess Coordinator of the West-Central Africa Division, Mrs. Raquel De Oliveira, shepherdess and a professional psychologist, Mrs. Lucy Owusu Darkwah, shepherdess coordinator for the Ghanaian community in Europe and a professional nurse, among others.
Topics and discussions included: the worthy woman of Italy, spiritual woman, mental wellness, physical appearance, abstinence for the youth and singles, complete marriage and the consequences of divorce, the importance of praising God, balancing home and career, a panel discussion on abuse in our community (home, school, work, church etc.), and others.
Many women testified of the Lord’s goodness and providences in their lives. The retreat ended on Sunday with games and a walk in spite of the rains, and a benediction which was led by Pastor Frank Owusu-Sekyere; chairman of the Ghanaian congregations.
