#GC Session2025

General Vice Presidents elected

The team of seven General Vice Presidents of the Adventist World Church was elected on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Chairman of the Nominating Committee John Wesley Taylor V said, “The Nominating Committee decided that as [the general vice presidents] function as a team, together—the Nominating Committee would like to recommend these names to you as a team.”
They were probably chosen to represent the geographical and ethnic spread of the church, with three new names on the team. The women of the church (65% ) are also represented by one woman (1 of 7).

Audrey Andersson remains in her role as a general vice president, a position she has held since the 2022 GC Session. Prior to her election she was the executive secretary of the Trans-European Division (TED). Andersson holds a master’s degree in pastoral ministry and, during her tenure, has emphasized the importance of maintaining a distinctly Adventist identity while embracing a balanced, culturally relevant approach to mission work. She is the second female general vice president and the first European woman.
