"The method dearest to me is evangelism through friendship. Being a friend is something we can all do. For me, it is a challenge to be able to collaborate with my true Friend!”
We read, “Women who are willing to consecrate some of their time to the service of the Lord should be appointed to visit the sick, look after the young, and minister to the necessities of the poor.” (Daughters of God, Chapter 7).
In June this year, we reorganized our meeting with the women's team of the ”From Friend to Friend" program. Since then we have met twice a month, with about 20 people each time, and bonded friendships along a long and beautiful journey with Christ.
“Our favorite hymn was ‘What a Friend we have in Jesus’ and each time we sang it with great joy. We prayed a lot together, received hugs, and in addition to the Word of God, we shared experiences. Thus a true friendship based on trust was formed. Each time we also had a fellowship meal," says Julianna Bende, Women's Ministries department leader in the church of Târgu Mureș A.
These meetings were both spiritual and practical. As a result, many food parcels were distributed to those in need (the elderly, the sick, and the disabled). One family was also helped with their home, and this help brought great joy.
Being a friend is something we can all do. You and I can make an impact on many people throughout our lives. If every believer were to be someone's friend and gently lead them to a friendship with Jesus Christ, we would see a whole different world than the one we see today!
