Full of anticipation, we awaited our guests after a long break with our women's breakfast meetings. Our chef cook had an eye operation a few days previously and was not supposed to lift anything, so her son came to support his mother. Many sisters thought the same as Michael; by half-past eight the kitchen was full of helpers.
We had prayed and invited friends - and God sent us guests. A total of 28 women came, seven of them were at the women's breakfast for the first time, or rather in our church. The buffet was sumptuous, inviting, healthy, and international! Just as we are used to.
In various conversations, women have told me that their biggest problem is time. That's why I wanted to talk about a woman who had very little free time. I found a nameless girl in the Bible, a slave, the servant of Mrs. Naaman. You can read this story in 2 Kings 5:1-14. In groups, the women worked on various questions about this story. Here are some of them:
A young girl who could not choose what to do with her time, could not attend a church service - What could God do through this child?
How do you imagine the domestic, biblically based upbringing of this child who had compassion and empathy for the enemy?
People often compare the strict God of the Old Testament with the kind God of the New Testament.- Do you see this image of God in this believing slave girl?
The time flew by. Ariana delighted us with oriental music and set the mood for our next meeting which will be a family breakfast on June 22 in Selker/Mühlviertel.
