November 25—International Day for the Prevention of Violence provided the Seventh-day Adventist Church community in Sibiu with an opportunity to address a topic that is often overlooked: violence and abuse of the elderly.
Those who chose to attend on Sabbath afternoon participated in the seminar “Violence and Abuse Against the Elderly,” where they were informed and sensitized about this worrying phenomenon. The forms of abuse to which seniors may be exposed, the profile of victims and aggressors, as well as practical ways of prevention and intervention, were presented. All this information had a clear purpose: to firmly affirm the message "Stop aggression and violence!"
We want to continue this series of seminars that aim to promote a healthy life—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—in an ever-changing world.
