At Maranatha Church Ploiesti, the Women's Ministries program on domestic violence, ‘Adventists Say No to Violence,’ began with a prayer time and looked at women dedicated to their mission in the Bible and their role in it.
We were happy that Sister Gianina Floricel, director of the Women's Ministries Department, Muntenia Conference, was present in our midst, and with her warm and soft voice, she captured the attention of the little ones with her children's stories.
The material "Wolves in sheep's clothing" was presented with emotion and a heavy heart to the church by Elena Popa, leader of the Women's Ministries department of the Maranatha church. One woman who had opened up and told her about all that she suffered with her ex-husband, who is also a Christian was presented with a purple T-shirt as a sign of support. Elena was able to understand what she was going through because she had experienced the same journey and she tried to encourage her because with God what does not break us makes us stronger.
In the Sabbath afternoon session Sister Gianina Floricel presented the topic, ‘What is domestic violence, its forms, recognition and effects’ from the booklet "Dynamics of Domestic Violence". The concluding message, "At the end, we will not remember the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends" made all present very thoughtful.
